This compound was introduced by Dupont in 1952 and it is well known because of its peculiar characteristics such as:
- good behaviour in a wide range of temperatures (from -40 to +135°C)
- excellent mechanical characteristics
- excellent resistance to ozone and atmospheric agents
- good chemical resistance mainly to oxidizing and corrosive agents
- low permeability to the humidity arid other vapours
- good flame resistance
- good dielectric characteristics
Applications: automotive, electric, house building, cables, and rolls.
